About Background Noises

What is Background Noises for?

Background noise radio that plays for hours without repeating. It is for people who want a sound and nothing else: there are no voiceovers, no guided sessions, no sleep stories and no ads. Background Noises has music stations, nature sounds, noise colors and tones: tap one and it plays until you pause it or the sleep timer ends it.

What do we believe?

• Say what the sound is. We describe each sound and how it is made. We do not promise what it will do to you.
• Say how it is made. The noise colors and tones are calculated by eleMusic's own software. The music stations and nature sounds are generated, then mastered by eleMusic: none of it is recorded outdoors or performed by people, and we never say it is. How the sound is made.
• Plain pricing. A free plan that plays every sound as a sample, one paid plan that plays everything, no credits, and cancelling whenever you like.
• Your data stays yours. No ads and no advertising trackers, and the updated apps never read or write your health data. Until an iPhone or iPad install takes the latest update, the earlier version may still write your listening sessions to Apple Health as mindful minutes, if you allowed it.

Who publishes the apps?

Third Space LLC publishes the Background Noises apps in the App Store and on Google Play, and the stores show it as the seller. The service the apps connect to is run for us by eleMusic Inc., a separate company. An app that has not taken the latest update still connects to the earlier service, which we run ourselves, until it updates.

Is Background Noises part of eleMusic?

No. Background Noises is Third Space LLC's product, with its own name, app and site. eleMusic Inc. runs the stream of music and sound, the account service and the rendering of the noise colors and the tones for us under a service agreement, which is why the music and sound come from eleMusic and the site says Powered by eleMusic. eleMusic's own product is a background music service for businesses, at elemusic.fm.
